About Tristan

Tristan grew up in Adelaide, where he completed an Honours Bachelor Degree in Science (Ecology), supervised by BioR Founder Dr David Paton AM. His Honours research project investigated the habitat use of woodland birds following controlled burns in the Mt Lofty Ranges around Adelaide.

Tristan has worked as a field ecologist for the University of Adelaide, in sustainability for the vegetable industry, in biodiversity planning at Adelaide City Council and more recently as Program Manager at Wollangarra Outdoor Education Centre.

These experiences have shaped his views about the importance of helping people connect with nature for societal, health and ecological benefits, but also for shaping future generations of conservationists.

He has been volunteering with BioR since 2013.
