What is BioR?

who-we-areBioR is a not-for-profit organisation that generates funds, knowledge and practical skills to re-construct habitats to support native wildlife in heavily cleared agricultural landscapes.

The Bio in BioR stands for Biodiversity, the R stands for Research, Reconstruct and Reconnect. BioR wants people to engage with the natural environments that surround them and to contribute to looking after our biodiversity.

BioR secures funding from donors offsetting their ecological footprints, and applies for government grants. Donations are tax-deductible for Australians and Americans.

BioR supports research that improves our knowledge of the habitat requirements of fauna, and research that improves the quality of reconstructed habitats so that they will support threatened plants and animals in the future. This makes BioR very different to other organisations that conduct revegetation works.

BioR also works with government agencies, universities, other non-government organisations and individuals in delivering re-constructed habitats.
